Soon It Will Be Empty
Promotional tissue boxes are a common sight in Korea. They are freely distributed by real estate agencies to advertise properties during their construction phase. On closer inspection, the background imagery consists of 3D renderings and photographs of existing buildings. These amalgamated suburban landscapes have been scanned and enlarged, moving from right to left across the screen. The video installation was shown in the canteen of Städelschule in Frankfurt for three days as part of its annual exhibition. The tissues were placed on the tables and made available to visitors while they were dining.
